About Us

…You owe it to everyone you love (including yourself) to find pockets of tranquility in your busy world…

Ameena – Founder of Tranquility Therapy.

I have been practising as a massage therapist since 2009. I am strongly driven by a passion to serve people from all walks of life and to instil in people that health is not a commodity for only the rich, but that we should all own the right to take care of ourselves and have access to services that compliment our health and well-being.

My passion for health and well being stems from the belief that feeling good about yourself is not a luxury, it’s an absolute necessity!

It is the social responsibility of us all to do what we can for each other; to be generous with our skills, time and energy in order to prosper as a healthy community. I feel blessed with the opportunity to make a change in peoples lives and am driven by the ability to offer my skills and practice to help relieve the suffering of stress, anxiety, depression, aches, pains and tension to name but a few. Through my work as a complementary therapist I am able to contribute to the wellbeing of society; through the body, mind, and soul.

“For everyone well-being is a journey..the secret is committing to that journey and taking those first steps with hope and belief in yourself!”

I offer a range of holistic therapies using ancient healing techniques that aim to de-stress, relax and invigorate your mind, body and soul. This is achieved through the manipulation of tissues and muscles using various strokes, techniques and a variety of pure essential oils. Holistic therapy provides; both physical and psychological benefits which help manage symptoms of chronic conditions and enhance your wellbeing.

Holistic Approach

In order to provide the above, I believe in offering a very engaging consultation whereby I can listen with clarity to my clients and provide the essentials for their own personal needs. This approach has become part of my practice which has been developed from a broad range of training and working practices. At most this has given me a wonderful opportunity to open my heart to those who wish to better themselves, and strive forward to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is through my work that I noticed many women were not accessing therapy services either due to cost implications or cultural reasons. With this in mind, I decided to set up a therapy service where I can whole heartedly reach out and touch the lives of many others.

Well being has always been an area of interest to me; particularly treating our body on a holistic basis. I am of the conviction, if we treat our system as a whole, nurturing ourselves through varied means (mind, body, spirit) whilst also trying to seek the root cause of any health disorder then we may potentially place ourselves in harmony with self and enter into better health in every area of our lives rather than looking at our body as different systems. Have you ever been so ill or emotionally stressed, that you have felt other parts of your body that you may think have nothing to do with your ailment or situation aching or pounding for no obvious reason? Whether we realise it or not, everything is connected!

My journey into the world of massage as Practitioner began in the Summer of 2019, when I met a wonderful massage Therapist that asked me if I had ever, ‘considered taking up study that would enable me to gain a professional certificate as a massage therapist?’ I mulled the question over, and found a seed had been sown, it was eventually watered through my studies, strong network and other beautiful peers I met along route. In June 2022, there was fruition! An opportunity to work alongside other like-minded professional Therapists opened up and here I am at Tranquility Therapy, enabling provision of the following: Complementary Therapy (Swedish massage), Deep Tissue, Sports and Pregnancy Massage

Carol – ITEC Therapist

My massage journey began in 2013 when I trained in baby massage, and went on to run workshops for parents as part of my work in early years. I was reintroduced to massage by a close friend, when I started to experience the stresses of modern-day life taking a toll on my own wellbeing. Having experienced the many benefits of regular treatments, I spoke to my therapist about pathways to becoming a therapist. I started to mull over the idea and with the help and support of others in the field, I took the leap of faith in September 2021 to undertake studies to become a qualified therapist. I am now qualified in Pregnancy Massage, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, and Sports massage.  Tranquillity therapy has provided me with the opportunity to support women through massage therapy, a powerful way to relax, support health and rehabilitation as well as promote better sleep and find time for yourself in a tranquil space. Don’t take my word for it. Come and experience this space for yourself!

Maureen – ITEC Therapist

I completed my Complementary Therapies studies in 2017 at City Lit which covered Anatomy and Physiology, Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.  I developed a deep passion for complementary therapies and went onto study Sports Massage and various CPD courses in Deep Tissue Massage and Japanese Facial Rejuvenation.  Working in Neal’s Yard Therapy Rooms as a graduate therapist for several years developed my experience in working with a range of conditions and symptoms. I am delighted to have the opportunity to follow my passion in supporting women’s health, especially during transitional times such as menopause by providing holistic treatments at Tranquility Therapy.
